Many areas under Beledweyne town, Hiraan region, flooded the river of Shabelle, flooding caused by the flooding of many IDP settlements in Beledweyne and the surrounding areas. Hiraan Governor Mr.Sheikh Hussein Osman, in a interview with Media Groups, said 25,000 people have been displaced by the effects of floods caused by the recent rains.
Mr.Sheikh Hussein Osman, the deputy district commissioner of Hiraan region, also pointed out that the flooding of the Shabelle River in Beledweyne and surrounding areas is wiping out, and emergency assistance is needed to save people affected by the floods. Shabelle River is most of the time the rainy season is making floods due to various casualties caused by people and livestock in the country’s rivers.
