Great Somali poet, Mohamed Ibrahim Warsame (Hadrawi), died today in Hargeisa, as confirmed by some of his relatives.
The deceased poet died of a long-term illness, and his death has been widely discussed in the media.
Poet Hadrawi was 79 years old and was widely known in the Somali community. He was also one of the main pillars of the Arts and Literature, he made plays and songs including patriotic and romantic. He was also a writer who produced great books that are loved by Somali people.
May God have mercy on the death of the poet who has been condoled by various leaders of Somalia.
Hadrawi was born in Burao, the capital city of Togdheer region in 1943, and was one of the most prominent innovators in Somali society.
