Deni travels to Ethiopia to discuss the country’s naval base in Bosaso.

The President of Puntland State of Somalia, Said Abdullahi Deni is on his way to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Monday, according to presidential sources. Said Deni will be meeting Ethiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to arrange Ethiopia’s naval base in Bosaso. The Somali Federal Government President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has an agreement with the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to use the four ports of Somalia, Bosaso, Berbera, Hobyo and Kismayo.



According to sources told Somali Times, Deni travels to Ethiopia to discuss the country’s naval base in Bosaso.

The purpose of Said Deni’s visit is Ethiopia Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed called Said Deni, according to sources. He will also hold various meetings with senior Ethiopian government officials during his stay in Addis Ababa.

However, Deni has previously travelled to neighboring countries such as Djibouti, Kenya and the United Arab Emirates,

But, there is just one problem, Ethiopia is a landlocked nation.

Somalia meanwhile relations between Addis Ababa and Mogadishu have improved significantly and the Somalian ports of, Bosaso, Berbera, Hobyo and Kismayo are well suited for large navies.
