Beledweyne, the Hiran region, the election of six members of the House of the People of the Somali Parliament is underway in HirShabelle. The election was won by Hop-086 by National Security Adviser Fahad Yasin , whose election is being closely watched.

The seat was also contested by one of Fahad’s rivals, Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed, , as the seat was reserved for a national security adviser close to Farmajo. Mr Fahad Yasin.

Fahad Yasin received 70 votes, while the other candidate received 24 votes, and also lost 3 votes, according to the HirShabelle SEIT Committee.

Fahad Yasin’s victory was predictable, as he worked hard in the seat previously held by Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir. It is understood that Fahad Yasin will run for the post of deputy speaker of the Somali parliament, a position previously held by Abdiweli Sheikh Ibrahim Mudey who was ousted after another man won his seat.

However, Fahad Yasin will be reunited with his colleagues Abdullahi Kulane and Yassin Farey, who were also elected to the Somali Parliament.
