The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, HE Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad, delivered a speech at the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah on Sunday.
The foreign minister stressed Somalia’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting the attacks by the Huthi rebels.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Somali Foreign Minister held meetings with several foreign ministers including Djibouti, H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Adel Al-Jubeir, Maldives, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim and Sudanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Hamid Mohamed E. Momtaz, and also met with the OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al Othaimeen and President of the Islamic Development Bank Bandar Al Hajjar.
