Former Somali ambassador to Washington dies of Covid-19




Former Somali ambassador to the United States Abdikarim Ali Omar has died in the state of Columbus, Ohio, as his friends have confirmed. According to sources told Somali Times Abdikarim Ali Omar has died of Coronavirus.



Ambassador Abdikarim has been hospitalized in Columbus for the past few days. He was one of the few Somalis who specialized in diplomacy. Ambassador Abdikarim Ali Omar, was the last Ambassador to President Mohamed Siad Barre’s administration in Washington, DC, and was a member of the Somali community in that country.

Relative of Abdikarim Ali Omar said, ”May God have mercy on him, Abdikarim is currently a candidate for the 2021 Somali presidential election.”
