Kenyan police have arrested the governor of Garissa county in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. Witnesses said Flying Squad officers raided the house of Mr Ali Korane on Tuesday Morning.
According to the local media, Mr Korane will be questioned about the assassination attempt on the Former minister of County. Mr Korane who is accused of armed men to eliminate the former minister is detained at Kilimani police station in Nairobi. The officers arrested two other individuals who were said to have executed the attack.
Last Sunday, Idris Mukhtar was shot while at a shopping mall in Kileleshwa. He suffered serious injuries in the head.
He was left for dead outside a city hotel after which the DCI seized of the matter. Nairobi deputy police boss Richard Kerich said that a gang of three followed the former county official to his car and shot him in the head at close range before escaping. Nothing was stolen.
