Prime Minister Roble appoints new Electoral Commission

Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has appointed a high-level technical committee to oversee the country’s elections.

The nominated committee consists of seven members of the Prime Minister’s Advisers and is tasked with overseeing electoral administration, coordinating Federal and State election commissions, financial management and international relations.



The appointment of the new technical committee comes amid renewed criticism from Prime Minister Roble’s opponents, who have called for him not to deviate from the path of neutrality in order to achieve free and fair elections.

The Commission was appointed by Prime Minister Roble the governor Abdulkadir Ali knowledge that a lot of time already worked by Prime Minister Mohamed Roble and he once served as chairman of the electoral commission in 2016.
