Somali foreign minister says Uhuru and Roble discuss the maritime case

Somali Foreign Minister Mohamed Abdirizack said maritime meeting was held between Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Prime Minister Mohamed Roble in Mombasa. The President of Kenya’s main agenda was the maritime case to negotiate between Somalia and Kenya according to Kenyan officials told Somali Times.

Kenya statehouse has reported on Twitter that Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta and Prime Minister Roble discussed issues including the controversial, Indian Ocean maritime dispute, which is at the International Court of Justice, the Khat drug trade, security and the Somali elections.




The Minister said that the meeting is still going on and the government would later discuss strengthening relations between the two countries. A technical committee will be assigned to work on the restoration of cooperation between the two countries.

According to senior Somali official told Somali Times maritime case Somalia is waiting for the outcome which will be decided by ICJ.
