The Somali government has opposed the international community’s decision to extend the term of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and his government.

Somali Minister of Information Osman Abukar Dubbe told a news conference in Mogadishu that no international or regional organization could legally condemn an independent parliament’s decision.”We say it is illegal and the Somali government does not welcome such condemnation,” said Dubbe, who said the government welcomes the new envoy.

The Minister of Information also termed as illegal a clause in the communiqué of the AU Peace and Security Council meeting that Amisom’s troops were monitoring the movements of Somali forces.

According to Minister Dubbe, this provision clearly contradicts the mandate of Amisom forces in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Information lamented the fact that countries at war with Somalia are the editors of the analysis of Somalia.
