The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and other dignitaries attended the 62nd Anniversary Commemoration of the Somali National Army at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Mogadishu.
The president greeted the various units of the Somali government forces and delivered a speech on the history of the troops and their establishment.
The large-scale event closed most of the main roads in the capital, affecting the public. Road closures include the long Maka-Almukarama road, Heart and Industrial roads.
Roads leading to the Ministry of Defense headquarters are also closed during the 62nd anniversary of the formation of the Somali National Army on April 12th.
The ceremony, which is currently underway, will be attended by President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo, all army commanders as well as ministers from the Somali federal government.
President Mohamed Farmajo give credit to rebuilding Somalia’s army forces and putting back Somalia map of Africa again. Somali army forces been known to Africa before the civil war ‘Lions of Africa’.
