Somalia president says Al-Shabab is growing marijuana farm fields

The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, has revealed that the areas liberated from the Al-Shabab terrorist group have left farm fields where they are growing marijuana that is cultivated by the Al-Shabab terrorist group.

The president pointed out that the Al-Shabab terrorist group planted marijuana in order to attack the Somali people, while the group used to make a lot of money from the cultivation of marijuana.

President Hassan Sheikh also said that his government is fighting hand in hand with the Al-Shabab terrorist group and hand in hand fighting with the inflation of Somalia’s economy, according to sources told Somali Times since Hassan Sheikh took office Somalia become a loophole economically because Hassan Sheikh has replaced well educated civil servants with uneducated civil servants many ministers and junior ministers are unqualified for the job.

“Marijuana farms were taken to the areas that were liberated from Al-Shabab and they used to send them to attack people, and they used to send them to the army and the markets, they used to get a lot of money from them. Thirty sacks of marijuana were recently seized and burned,” said President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud.

“They need the things that make people think that there is a law and what the government has power over is the law. When the drug law is outdated, there will be laws that the government will bring to control drug issues,” said President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud.

This statement by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, comes as recently there have been operations against the sale and use of drugs in Mogadishu and its surroundings.
