Somalia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia has resigned due to misconduct with the President’s delegation

The Ambassador of Somalia to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Salim Macow Haji, has resigned due to bad behavior with the president’s delegation who attended the university conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Ambassador Salim Macow, who issued a letter of resignation, stated several points, among them, that he was excluded from participating in the 32nd meeting of the Arab University held in Jeddah on May 19, 2023. This issue is outside the international diplomatic system.

Also, Ambassador Salim Macow said in his writing that the President’s Chief of Protocol, Hinda Culosow, behaved unethically. He submitted his complaint to the Minister of Foreign Affairs who refused to do anything.

“The head of the President’s protocol, Hinda Colosow, prevented me from meeting with President Hassan Sheikh,” said Ambassador Salim in his statement.
