Foreign Minister of Somaliland Mr Sa’ad Ali Shire thanked the federal government for their contributions to the people affected by the devastating cyclone that hit several districts of Somaliland.
Mr Sa’ad said that this assistance was the first of its kind to bring the Somali government to Somaliland since the devastating famine has struck, and noted that humanitarian assistance is not needed to be politicized.
He said the Somaliland Foreign Ministry is sending money to the Disaster Commission to deliver .
The minister finally welcomed all donations to the people living in Awdal, Sahil, Selel, and Sinai in a devastating storm, adding that Somalia sent 900,000 dollars in October 2011 -time of drought-hit areas of southern Somalia.
