The statement said Somaliland is not ready to negotiate with the Somali government at this time. Somaliland has accused the Federal Government of being dishonest and refusing to negotiate, and at this time no talks between the two sides can be started.
The announcement comes as Somaliland and the Federal Government of, appointed by President Farmajo yesterday, said they are ready to negotiate and are just waiting for Somaliland. Somaliland leaders believe President Farmajo is part of former dictator Mohamed Siad Bare regime. Somaliland has been independent since 1991.
