Officials from the Somali and Turkish navies on Friday began exploring military bases in the sea, especially the coasts of the northern regions of Hargeisa administration, to protect Ethiopia from the Somali sea.

According to Somali Times, the most important bases are located in the cities of Lughaye and Seylac, which are located in strategic locations, and the survey is being conducted on the coast near Djibouti.

The officers conducting the survey are both Somali and Turkish, and they are carrying military planes, and it is expected that they will be in this survey these days, as the plan of the Turkish forces to land in the sea of Somalia is being prepared.

The coasts of Awdal region up to the border of Somalia and Djibouti are the important waters to defend against Ethiopia, and Turkish naval bases will be located there, according to officials told Somali Times.

In the coming weeks, warships and troops from Turkey are expected to arrive at the shores of Somalia, in order to implement the defense agreement between Somalia and Turkey.

The exploration of the Somali sea is going on while the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh, is in Turkey, where the Turkish President met with him.

This plan means a lot for Somalia, as Somalia’s sea will be strongly defended, and the military power will be revoked in the Hargeisa administration agreement that Ethiopia gave to the sea.

The agreement between Somalia and Turkey for the defense of the sea states that within 10 years the Somali navy will be built and equipped.
