Three Somali ministers meet with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia at Foreign Ministry

Mogadishu- In a fruitful meeting held today at the Foreign Ministry, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Ahmed Issa Awad, and attended by the Minister of Finance  Mr. Abdirahman Dualeh Beileh, Minister of Trade and Industry  Mr. Mohamed Abdi Hayir Mareye and Special Representative of UN Secretary-General to Somalia  Mr. Michael Keating.
Various issues, including politics, security and cooperation, were discussed at the meeting.
The two sides agreed to set up host country relations committee and to strengthen and develop a deeper and more strategic partnership between the United Nations and the Somali federal government in all areas.



In another separate meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,  Mr. Ahmed Issa Awad, discussed with UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia Mr. Michael Keating the activation and development of partnership strategies between the Somali government institutions and the UN organizations working in the country to promote constructive cooperation as part of Somalia’s keenness to achieve development in accordance with its national strategy and common goals.
This productive meeting was attended by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abdulkadir Ahmed-Kheir Abdi, the Director of the Office of Minister Mr. Abdullahi Dool Mohamed, Director of Mission Support, UNSOM and Director of UNSOS Mr. Amadu Kamara and Chief of Staff UNSOM Ms. Hedwig Maex.
