Uneducated defence minister sign agreement with UAE to manage security of Somalia
The Minister of the Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation is the Honorable Ahmed Moallim Fiqi and a few other ministers who rejected the colonisation agreement that would have forced the Somali government to lose control of its security obligations that in turn would have seen its national defence apparatus placed under the control of the foreign country United Arab Emirates.

Under this doubtful agreement, the foreign country stated that they would take over control of Somalia’s land, sea and airports without restrictions and the military personnel of the UAE would be granted unrestricted freedom of movement anywhere in the country.
Even worse, the suspicious one-sided agreement allows the UAE’s intelligence agencies to take control of information and intelligence gathering to advance their hidden agenda, further subordinating the Somali national intelligence which will come under direct control of the UAE’s intelligence agency.
The rejected agreement would have amounted to the loss of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It accords the foreign country the ability to engage in direct military intervention in Somalia, which is in direct violation of national and international law.
Somalia’s cabinet and parliament should protect the country from the selfish interests of individuals holding important national documents.
Somalia is not for sale to the United Arab Emirates.
