The First Lady Ms. Zeinab Abdi Moalim had a dinner with the Chairpersons of Women’s Associations in 17 districts of the Benadir Region to discuss strengthening their role in government, accelerating basic maternal services. And children, reconciliation and strengthening the unity of the Somali people.
The First Lady noted that Somali women have a significant role to play in the reconstruction and development of the country, as they have always been at the forefront of working for the common good, self-reliance, community awareness and the plight of the Somali poor.
Praising Somali women for their positive role in serving the nation, Ms. Zeinab Abdi Moalim urged Somali women to participate in politics and leadership in the country.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairperson of Social Affairs of Benadir Region Ms. Basma Amir Ahmed, the Chairperson of Banadir Regional Women’s Association Ms. Jawahir Barqab and some Somali Women Leaders who thanked the First Lady for her invitation and shared their suggestions.
