Residents of Kismayo have held Anti-Somali President Farmajo demonstration as tension between the two centers of power escalates. The residents were protesting against the recent government decision to reroute all flights to and from Kismayo through Mogadishu. The relationship between Kismayo and Mogadishu have hit rock bottom ever since the regional administration held elections, which saw Sheikh Ahmed Islam Madobe elected for a third term of presidency.
Mogadishu said they would not recognize the outcome of the elections due to anomalies.
