Ali Harbi Ali will die in prison life sentence for murder of MP Sir David Amess

The Somali UK born stabbed the Conservative MP Sir David Amess to death in a terrorist attack has been handed a whole life sentence. Ali Harbi Ali will die in prison.

Ali Harbi Ali, 26, was convicted on Monday of the murder and of planning terrorist attacks on other MPs for two years before he killed MP Sir David Amess, Ali, from London, had consumed extensive Islamic State propaganda before he attacked MP Sir David Amess at a constituency surgery at a church in Leigh-on-Sea in October 2021.




Justice Sweeney branded Ali Harbi Ali cowardly for his refusal to accept his guilt and putting Sir David’s family through the ordeal of a trial. Ali Harbi Ali was handed a whole life sentence for the killing said Mr Justice Sweeney, Ali will never be released.

Ali told the trial that he had no regrets about the killing, believing that Sir David deserved to die because of how he voted for airstrikes on Syria
