United Arab Emirates armour lands on Socotra take over




United Arab Emirates .soldiers, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, and military trucks were seen being unloaded from C-17 transport aircraft at the airport on the Yemeni island of Socotra  in photographs that began circulating on social media Two C-17s and at least two BMP-3 were seen in the photographs, which could be geolocated to Socotra’s airport. Media reported that four Emirati aircraft and 100 troops had arrived on the island to intimidate visiting officials from Yemen’s internationally recognised government.

The Emirates has confirmed that the island has sent four airplanes as hundreds of troops and part of the security operation.The UAE also urged the Yemeni government to sign the Socotra island over the next 99 years. This agreement is controversial.

The Socotra island, which is an important area in the area, has already been run by the Yemeni government, although it is claimed by Somalia and has a population of over 60,000 Yemeni and is also inhabited by Somalis from Puntland, the island is also a place a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
