Speaking at a press conference in Mogadishu, Mr. Abdirahman extended condolence to death of people, including the killing of a Southwest State Parliament member, Abdishakur Ya’qub in Baidoa town.
“I am calling for people in Southwest State to show calm, strengthen peace and keep the law. Electoral commission should postpone the election by getting better environment for the election to hold. To release the arrested former al-Shabaab terrorist candidate and let him go back to his area in peace”, Mr. Abdirahman said. These calls come two days after Somali Security forces arrested former Al-Shabab deputy leader, Mukhtar Robow Ali (Abu Mansur) who was among the candidates running for the governors in Southwest State according to a Statement issued by Ministry Internal Security.
