Press Release: Puntland Post has exposed the lies that the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle’s English-language news network published in what it described as an investigative report about two Somali refugees in Germany. The report accused Ayuub Abdirizak and Yacqwub, two creators, of fomenting conflict in Somalia.
Deutsche Welle has been influenced by the Somali separatism. Deutsche Welle and ARD journalists have been influenced by the Somali separatism in Northern Somalia, that has been fueled by Ayub Abdirisak, one of the creators of the content, who has urged the people of Las Anod to stand up and condemn the separatist Hargeisa Administration’s forces, whose soldiers waged an unjust war against the unity of Somalia in the Sool region in 2023. More than 1,000 civilians have been killed by SNM militia in Las Anod.
Yacqub is known for his support for the Federal Government of Somalia and Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre.
Neither Deutsche Welle nor ARD have produced a balanced report based on real, original research into a nearly seven-month conflict that has caused death, displacement and destruction in Las Anod.
Templeton Prize winner Edna Adan Ismail is urging separatist forces to destroy Las Anod and build a bigger city.
The so-called investigative report could benefit from the knowledge of media psychology of DW and Germany’s ARD, which published the lies of journalist Markus Hoehne, a baseless and unfounded report.
