Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is meeting with representatives of the international community in Somalia at the Afisyoni Tent.
The meeting will be the first between the president and the representatives of the international community in Somalia after Parliament passed a two-year extension for Farmajo.
Several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United Nations and the African Union, opposed the extension.
However President Farmajo penned and signed the law for a two-year extension called the ‘Election Direction’. The meeting was reportedly requested by representatives of the international community at this time what they will discuss with the president.
The situation in Somalia has taken on a new dimension, and Farmajo and Mursal are insisting on an extension that has sparked another political crisis in Somalia.
