Former Somali President Ali Mahdi Mohamed has died in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, family members and other sources have confirmed to Somali Times. Ali Mahdi Mohamed had died of Covid-19. Reports say that Ali Mahdi Mohamed has been ill in the city for the last few days.



Ali Mahdi Mohamed became president of Somalia on January 26, 1991, after the ouster of Mohamed Siad Barre, and held the post until January 3, 1997, despite a period of civil war, and his administration is not working.

Ali Mahdi Mohamed was born in Jowhar. He was 82 years old.
