Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday received Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble in Mombasa for his first official visit to Kenya.
The Prime Minister of Somalia is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta on issues of mutual interest. The talks between President Kenyatta and Prime Minister Roble are expected to centre on the Indian Ocean maritime dispute, which is at the International Court of Justice, the Khat drug trade, security and the Somalia elections.
“The Prime Minister is scheduled to have bilateral talks, which topics will be of interest to Kenya and Somalia.” Said a statement from State House said.
The Kenyan government said the meeting was a positive step between the two countries, which have been at loggerheads for some time, leading to severance and sanctions.
