Mogadishu governor says, We have registered 500 bodies which are infected with Coronavirus.’

Mogadishu Governor Omar Mohamud Mohamed (Filish) was addressing a meeting in Mogadishu, talking about the effects of the Coronavirus outbreak in Somalia. Omar Filish said, ‘Since April 19, I have been conducting investigations of the cemeteries in the capital.

The mayor of Mogadishu said, ‘I have so far documented the deaths of about 500 people who have died in the Banadir region.’ He also said, ‘They believe many of the people who died from the deadly Coronavirus which is currently ravaging Somalia. The maximum number they registered in one day was 43 people, while the lowest number was 22 people.

Governor Filish finally called on the Somali people to take health advice, to control the spread of Covid-19. The announcement comes as the Somali Information Minister recently announced that anyone who dies at this time is considered by the federal government to have been infected with the Coronavirus, which is still spreading in many countries around the world.
