New US Ambassador to Somalia Arrives in Mogadishu




The new US Ambassador to Somalia Larry Andre landed in Mogadishu on Monday. The US embassy said in a statement on its arrival in Mogadishu that the ambassador was keen to work with the Somali government and its people.

“We are delighted to announce the arrival of Ambassador Larry André. He is passionate about working with the Somali people, their state and the federal government, to advance our common goal of reviving Somalia into a safe, prosperous, and democratic country., ”Said the US embassy in Somalia.




In April last year, US President Joe Biden appointed Larry Edward André Jr. as the new United States Ambassador to Somalia.
The new ambassador replaces Donald Yamamoto, who has been Somalia’s ambassador since November 2018. In December the U.S. Senate approved Larry Edward Andre Jr. to be the US Ambassador to Somalia.
