Norway provides $30 million in support for economic development in Somalia




Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia Mr Elmi Mohamoud Nur today met with the Minister of International Development of the Norwegian Government, Anne Beathe, who visited the country in Mogadishu.

The meeting between the Minister of Finance of Somalia and the Minister of International Development of Norway discussed the development of the country’s economy and the system of the General Administration of Finance.

“Today, I welcomed the Minister of International Development of Norway, Anne Beathe, in Mogadishu. We discussed the development of the country’s economy and the system of General Financial Management.

The Norwegian government is supporting Somalia with a sum of $30 million, which through the World Bank, these funds will be used to develop the economy of Somalia,” said the Minister of Finance.

The Norwegian government is supporting Somalia with an amount of $30 million, which it is sending to the World Bank. $30 million is for the development of Somalia’s economy and financial reform.

Norway is one of the European Union countries that supports the Federal Government of Somalia in terms of economic development and various other development projects.
