Prime Minister Roble meets with Electoral Security Committee

Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble met with the Electoral Security Committee, comprising Federal and State Police Commanders, Benadir Region and Amisom Command.

The purpose of the meeting was to expedite the work of the Security Committee and to ensure the security of the elections and the venues. The Prime Minister told the members of the security committee that they have a responsibility to carry out their duties.




Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has the leadership of the electoral process, particularly overseeing and holding the various electoral commissions accountable.

The Electoral Security Committee briefed the Prime Minister on his work, including the deployment of Federal, State and Amisom Police at the polling stations.

According to Somali officials close to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo’s advisors told Somali Times Farmajo’s plan is to re-elect himself as Somalia’s president to follow his late dictator uncle Siad Barre.
