Qatar promises to Somalia rebuilding Somali Airlines-sources say

Somali Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Duran Ahmed Farah received Qatari Ambassador to Somalia Hassan bin Hamsa Hashem in his office, and discussed a number of issues.

The two leaders focused on strengthening cooperation between the governments of Somalia and Qatar, according to Transport and Civil Aviation. Qatar promises to Somalia rebuilding Somali Airlines-sources told Somali Times.

“We discussed cooperation between the two countries and how to strengthen it,” said the Somali Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation. He also promised the ambassador that Qatar would contribute to the development of the country’s airports and infrastructure.




“In terms of aviation, we have worked together to develop the country’s airports and improve Somalia’s economic infrastructure,” Duran added.

Finally, Duran Ahmed Farah thanked the Government of Qatar for its continued support to the people and government of Somalia.

Qatar has been supporting the government of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo for the past five years and has implemented various projects in the country. However, Qatar’s new commitment to the federal government comes at a time when Somalia is in an election.
