Somali Canadian journalist among the dead in terrorist attack in Kismayo

According to Associated Press at least 10 people confirmed dead. The al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab extremist group, which often targets , claimed responsibility for the attack. Those killed include Canadian journalist Hodan Nalayeh, local officials confirmed . Hodan Nalayeh is the founder and host of Integration TV , an English TV show that focused on issues facing Somali diaspora as they integrate in to their respective communities.

Two journalists was among a number of people killed Friday when gunmen stormed As-Aseey hotel in Kismayo in an hours-long attack that reportedly began with a suicide bomber detonating a vehicle loaded with explosives. The exact number of people killed is yet to be confirmed as the gun. The jubaland administration forces are still surrounding the forces.
