Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has suspended all decisions on administrative and staffing changes in government institutions, pending the completion of elections.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on the basis of this law nullifies the appointment and dismissal of the Director General of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs by the government of Puppet Roble, and the appointment of the Acting Director General of the National Telecommunications Authority and director of the National Quality Assurance Agency.

A statement from the presidency said all appointments and administrative decisions related to the reshuffle of government institutions and civil servants had been canceled, starting with the swearing-in of members of parliament on April 14th 2022.

President Farmajo has instructed government agencies to refrain from using public office positions and resources for personal gain and not to serve the public interest, saying everyone should be held accountable for abusing national resources and power.

President Farmajo’s move comes shortly after a series of appointments and dismissals from puppet Roble’s government were posted on social media.
