Somali Prime Minister Mr Hassan Ali Khaire met with the United Nations envoy for Somalia Michael Keating in Mogadishu on Wednesday, March 28. Keating and Khaire discussed current issues in Somalia, including politics, security, socio-economic and among others, according to a statement posted on the envoy’s Twitter account.
The UN representative said maintaining progress and stability are essential for Somalia as the country is recovering decades-long conflict and now moving towards brighter future. The meeting came amid deepening political crisis in the country after members of the Lower house chamber of parliament tabled a motion against the speaker Mohamed Osman Jawari.
