Millions of voters turned out to vote in the presidential elections in Hargeisa




More than million people went to the presidential elections in Hargeisa administration this morning, after a tough campaign that lasted for more than 20 days.

In this upcoming election, President Muse Bihi Abdi, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro and Faisal Ali Warabe are competing for the presidential seat, with the biggest race between Bihi and Irro.

People are standing in long queues at the polling stations, the public vote will decide who will be the president of Hargeisa administration for the next 5 years and the three parties that will be in the political arena for the next 10 years.

President Bihi who has been the leader of Hargeisa administration for the past 7 years, is now in a state of uncertainty as it is predicted that he may lose this election, as he is competing against a strong opposition that has been entrenched during his tenure.

A large number of international observers have arrived in Somaliland, while the international community is watching how these fateful elections will take place, and their success will strengthen the much-admired democracy of Somaliland.
