Somali Prime Minister receives Qatari delegation in Mogadishu




Mogadishu  Somali Times – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mr. Hasan Ali khaire has received a high-level delegation from Qatar at his office in Mogadishu on Tuesday. A statement released by the office of Prime Minister, the two sides discussed a range of issues, mainly the bilateral relations and Qatari’s plans to invest key seaports in Somalia.

Somali Prime Minister has assured Qatari delegation that his government is ready for business and investment from every country eying to revive the economic infrastructure of the country. The president of the Federal government of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed paid tow state visits to Qatar since taking office in February 2017 amid a diplomatic crisis in GCC. Saudi-UAE led Arab coalition cut off all ties with Qatar on June 5 and imposed Sea, land and air blockade on the Gulf country for supporting what they called terrorism.

Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of the Federal Government of Somalia Mrs Maryan Aweys Jama who spoke to the media in the Somali prime minister thanked the delegation from Qatar and said that the two countries have a good relationship.
