Somali special forces seize new areas from Al-Shabaab terrorists

The Somali National Army has taken over from Al-Shabaab terrorists several areas in the Middle Shabelle region of HirShabelle.

The operation was led by the commander of the Somali National Army, General Odowa Yusuf Rage. Al-Shabaab fighters were reportedly present in the area, but after a brief battle, they withdrew. Officials government operations have to push and mortars in the war zone.



Local sources also told Somali Times that Somali government forces have set up new bases in areas taken over from Al-Shabaab. The situation is very tense, and movements opposing positions where, amid fears that al-Shabaab back fiercely.

The commander of the Somali National Army who is currently in Middle Shabelle region has been conducting military operations in HirShabelle region. Al-Shabaab still strong regions Hiran and Middle Shabelle, their attacks have been organized by the local HirShabelle.
