Somalia Foreign minister attends China-Arab Forum




China-The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr.  Ahmed Issa Awad attended the eighth session of the ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum
Mr Awad met Chinese President, H.E. Xi Jinping and discussed on promoting ties between the two friendly countries and China’s support to Somalia.

The Minister together with the delegation also met with Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Wing Yi and Ministers from Arab states during the forum yesterday on Tuesday.
Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi said that the eighth Ministerial meeting, China and Arab countries will follow the guidance of their leaders, explore ways to advance future-oriented cooperation centred around the BRI, and further upgrade China-Arab relations.

“China and Arab countries will become partners in promoting peace and stability. We need to strengthen coordination, continue to support each other on issues of major interests and core concerns and safeguard the common interests of developing countries”, Mr Yi said. He added that they would encourage more people-to-people exchanges and deepen cooperation in science, education, culture, health and information.
The China-Africa Cooperation Forum successfully concluded according to the officials.
