Somalia President meets President of Russia Putin

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, attended the opening of the Russia-Africa Cooperation summit and held special meetings with the leaders attending the conference.

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo held a special meeting with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, discussing bilateral relations and. President Farmajo, one of 43 leaders attending the Conference and his delegation, will hold special meetings with some of the leaders and investors who will attend the forum and present opportunities in our country. leaders of 43 of Africa’s 54 countries, Putin hailed the continent’s “enormous potential for growth” and negotiated deals to tap its riches including diamonds, uranium and oil.

Putin said Russia’s annual trade with African nations doubled in the last five years to exceed $20 billion, and expressed confidence that it could double again “as a minimum” in the next four or five years.
