Addis Ababa, The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed and his delegation arrived in Addis Ababa, where he welcomed the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed is holding talks with the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today.
The two parties are committed to strengthening relations between the two countries in the first place of security and the overall development and security of the region. The delegation of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia is Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Abdikadir Ahmed Khaire.
On February 20, 2019, Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi visited Ethiopia, and reportedly accepted Abiy Ahmed’s call for to work cooperatively with the Federal Government of Somalia and to strengthen regional integration. Federal Government of Somalia took Somaliland’s president’s acceptance to work together in a positive light calling it ‘ a step in the right direction. It is unclear if Somali president, trip to Ethiopia is partly related to the latest diplomatic development.
