Somalia’s military commander, Gen. Odowa Yusuf Rage said his army are chasing Al-Shabab wherever they are hiding.

The commander of the military forces, who was speaking to hundreds of national and local forces, said that Al-Shabab is open to surrender if they want to be safe.

Gen Odowa indicated that they know that the wounded and bodies of Al-Shabab are scattered in the forests where they were hiding, saying that they will go and kill the rest if they do not benefit from the amnesty offered by the government.

“We know that you are bleeding in the forest. We know that your bodies are on the trees. There are two things open to you, you have to surrender and go through the government’s amnesty process. We have to come to you and kill you,” said the commander of the country’s armed forces.

Gen. Odowa also said that the war with Al-Shabab cannot be reversed.

He made it clear that those who did not join the government forces and the local people should join the other side and prepare themselves not to be forgiven.

Odowa said that the Al-Shabab have done a great harm to the religion, and in the liberated areas it is not evident that they have done anything about the religion, instead they fought against the schools where the Quran was taught.
