Somalia’s Petroleum minister committed fraud $ 7 million oil deal with company coastline exploration




The Somalia’s minister of Petroleum, Abdirashid Mohamed Ahmed committed fraud of the agreement he signed with oil company Coastline Exploration.

The Minister of Petroleum the agreement was penned on the 15th of this month and that the Somali government will receive the signature of $ 7million which deposited in the private bank own by minister and his daughter, according to Somali officials told Somali Times. Sources add minister Abdirashid has been stealing public fund since he become minister of Petroleum.

“This file is kept secret by the Somalia’s minister of Petroleum and I have been working together for a long time, in terms of oil law, in terms of entering into an agreement with oil companies,” he said.




The Minister of Petroleum said that the Petroleum Agreement indicates that oil will be drilled in the South West, Galmudug and Jubbaland regions, but did not say when the implementation of this agreement will begin.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo last night strongly condemned the agreement, and denied any knowledge of it, saying that the Somali government had already stopped any agreement during the election process.
