Hargeisa, The chairman of the Somaliland Supreme Court, Justice Adan Haji Ali Ahmed, has sworn into the presidency of newly elected National Electoral Commission in the presence of President Muse Bihi.
The new members of the National Electoral Commission, just recently approved by the Somaliland House of Representatives, have been sworn under the Constitution, to undertake the mandate of the community.
The President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, swore in the members of the new commission and urged them to uphold justice and equality in the Qurʼān they have sworn today. Somaliland opposition parties have rejected the nomination of new members of the Communist Party, and the parties have opposed the extension of the Somaliland House of Representatives and the House of Elders.
