The secret deal between Deni and Farmajo

Credible sources obtained by the Somali Times said that the President of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and the President of the Puntland State Said Abdullahi Deni of Somalia have reached a secret bilateral agreement. ”The agreed-upon points confirmed to us by our sources are in the interest of both parties they are.”

President Farmajo promised to Deni $ 6,000,000 which was frozen during the conflict between Puntland and the Federal Government. All Puntland appointees will be consulted on the appointments, and will instead be relieved of the responsibilities of Deni’s opponents, who have previously been appointed by the government.

The deal is part of a process to oust former Foreign Minister Ahmed Isse Awad.

Deni, on the other hand, instead promised that the Puntland federal parliamentarians would produce people nominated by the federal government. Another point agreed upon by Deni was to remain silent on the opposition party’s meetings in Mogadishu.

It also includes keeping quiet about the federal government’s plan to form a new Jubaland administration and oust Ahmed Madobe.

According to the Somali Times, Said Abdullahi Deni’s financial situation has deteriorated after the Emirati government refused to allow him to run for president.
