Turkey releases statement of Somalia President Hassan Sheikh’s son murder case




The Minister of Justice of Turkey, Yılmaz Tunç, said that Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, the son of the president of Somalia who caused the death of a motorcyclist in Istanbul, will return to the country Turkey.

Speaking at an event in Ankara, the minister said that he had meetings with Somali judicial institutions, and said, “In the next few days, it is possible that the accused will come to Turkey and take part in the trial.”

The son of the President of Somalia was involved in the accident that led to the death, which happened on the Aksaray Kennedy road in the city of Istanbul, Yunus Emre Göçer, 38 years old, died in Turkey.

The car registered Somalia embassy driven by non diplomat Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud collided with the motorcycle driven by the deceased man, as seen in the video recorded by the hidden cameras which X point was posted by the mayor of Istanbul, and at that time the man was injured, he passed away on the 6th December 2023.

The preliminary report stated that Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud was innocent and therefore the accused was released, but the Minister of Justice of Turkey said that the second report revealed that he was guilty.

The minister has already said that “a court investigation has been initiated against the police officers who went to the scene of the crime and brought the wrong assessment at the beginning of the accident.”
