Uganda’s dictator Museveni says he believes the problem in Somalia can be solved

President Yoweri Museveni, who is the Chairman of the Heads of State of Troops in Somalia (TCCs) as part of the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), has promised to stabilize the Horn of Africa.

Dictator Yoweri Museveni gave this assurance at the Extraordinary Summit of the countries that have troops in Somalia which was held at the President’s House in Entebbe on Thursday.

During the summit, President Museveni reminded the delegates that Africa has already solved similar problems, citing the example of the Idi Amin issue in Uganda, which was resolved in Tanzania, and the Burundi issue which was resolved by former Somalia president Mohammed Siad Barre in East Africa. He said that he is confident that the problem in Somalia can also be solved.

The meeting was attended by the Presidents of the countries where troops are stationed in Somalia and delegates including President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud of Somalia, dictator Ismail Omar Guelle of Djibouti, Evariste Ndahishimiye of Burundi, Dr William Ruto of Kenya, and the Deputy Prime Minister. and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Mr. Demeke Mekonnen.

Other members who attended included the Head of the African Union Transitional Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) Ambassador Mohammed El-Amine Souef, Head of IGAD Mission in Uganda Lucy Daxbacher, Head of the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) Ms. Aisa Kacyira, and African Union Governors Imosemi Isevboja Sunday and Mr. Bankole Adeoye.

The Summit commended the African Union Transitional Mission in Somalia for the successful implementation of their mandate, including supporting political change, and stabilization efforts in Somalia.

The President of Djibouti, ruthless dictator Ismail Omar Guelleh, and the President of Kenya, Dr. William Samoei Ruto has been mandated to participate in development cooperation on behalf of countries where troops are stationed in Somalia.
