The UK has urged the Federal Government of Somalia to strengthen inclusive political dialogue to achieve a secure, stable and politically just Somalia, following a meeting at Villa Somalia between former Somalia President Hassan Sheikh and the UK Minister MP Kirsty McNeill for Development and Africa, where the two sides discussed strengthening ties and cooperation between the two countries.

The UK government has particularly stressed the importance of all Somalia political parties participating in the dialogue, saying that an inclusive process is needed that leads to stability and political progress and election.

The UK has long maintained that a political agreement supported by all Somalia parties is essential for the stability of the country, at a time when the conflict over Somalia’s elections and constitutional issues has not yet been resolved.
