Humanitarian agencies have strongly condemned the arrest and forced displacement of more than 1,000 people, including women, children and men, from Las Anod, of the Sool region. North Somalia was behind by Mr Muse Bihi and his henchman Mohamed Kahin.

Humanitarian partners say they are co-ordinating an urgent humanitarian assessment to determine the number of people affected and their immediate needs, in collaboration with Puntland authorities, for temporary shelter.

”We are very concerned about reports of forced displacement planned in the coming days. We call for humanitarian agencies to provide and expedite emergency assistance, in collaboration with local authorities, for a lasting solution,” said a statement from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
