A statement from the Upper House said no meeting was reported after the Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo was scheduled to address the Somali Parliament tomorrow.

The statement from the Upper House read as follows, ‘All senators of the Upper House are informed that no joint meeting has been requested by the President with the Speaker of the Upper House in accordance with Article 57 (c) of the Provisional Constitution and Article 59 (4) of the Rules of Procedure of the House. Therefore, no joint meeting of the two Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia is scheduled for tomorrow, 06 February 2021.’

It is not known whether the meeting is scheduled to take place tomorrow, but Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo said in an earlier statement that he would address parliament on Friday, February, 05, 2021 but said that today the match was postponed to tomorrow.

The call for the president’s meeting with the parliament comes at a time when the Dhusamareb conference is nearing failure.
